RIYADH — The Saudi Cabinet session, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday, reiterated its strongest condemnation of the attacks by the Israeli occupation authority in the region.
The Council of Ministers reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's full solidarity with the State of Qatar and its unwavering support for all measures that it takes to protect its security and preserve its sovereignty.
The Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on the outcome of his participation in the extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the emergency Arab-Islamic summit. He praised both summits for their support of the State of Qatar in responding to the brutal Israeli attack and for their complete rejection of any deviation from international law and norms.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the New York Declaration, which was issued by the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. The Cabinet emphasized that the resolution, supported by 142 countries, reflects a unified global commitment to a peaceful future, which includes the recognition of the Palestinian people's legitimate right to establish their independent state, based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
At the outset of the session, the Cabinet extended its congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on the opening of the second year of the ninth session of the Shoura Council, appreciating the lofty contents contained in the annual royal address. The speech underscored the strong foundations of Saudi Arabia, celebrated its developmental achievements, outlined aspirations for the advancement of citizens and national progress, and reaffirmed the Kingdom's dedication to regional security and stability.
The Cabinet expressed its support for the joint statement by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America regarding the restoration of peace and security in Sudan, hoping that this will contribute to ending the humanitarian tragedy suffered by the Sudanese people.
The Council affirmed Saudi Arabia's continued support for the efforts made by Syria to rebuild its economy, including provision of a grant to supply it with 1,650,000 barrels of crude oil to improve the living conditions of the Syrian people.
Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's participation in the 69th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference. During the meeting, Saudi Arabia emphasized its commitment to continue its national nuclear energy project in cooperation with the IAEA. This is aimed to strengthen human capital, boost national capabilities, support technological progress, and achieve economic and social prosperity, aiming to become a leading example in this field.
The Council affirmed Riyadh's hosting of the Money 20/20 Middle East Conference reflects the Kingdom's dedication to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, improving market efficiency, expanding partnerships and investments, and contributing to the development of the financial sector as a global hub in this field.
The Cabinet authorized Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Fahd National Library or his representative to negotiate and sign with the Indonesian side a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the library and the Indonesian National Library. The Council approved a MoU on cooperation in combating the trafficking, illicit production, and manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursor chemicals, between the governments of Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.
The Cabinet approved a protocol between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture and the Chinese General Administration of Customs regarding inspection and quarantine requirements for dairy products exported from Saudi Arabia to China.
The Council approved a MoU between the Saudi National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification and the Gansu Desert Control Research Institute of China in the field of desertification and another MoU for cooperation in the field of export development between the Saudi Export Development Authority and the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation.
The Cabinet authorized Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) or his representative to negotiate with the Turkish side regarding the draft MoU in the field of technical and vocational training between the TVTC and the Ministry of National Education of Turkey.
The Council approved the project document for the privatization of the military clothing and equipment factory.
