RIYADH — Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa at the Presidential Palace in Astana.

During the meeting, they discussed topics of mutual interest. Tokayev presented Al-Issa with the Order of Friendship in recognition of his efforts to strengthen friendship between peoples, consolidate interfaith cooperation, and promote religious understanding and peace. The Order of Friendship (Dostyk Order) is a state award of Kazakhstan given to individuals for their outstanding contributions to international peace, friendship, and cooperation between peoples.

Al-Issa expressed his gratitude to President Tokayev for the award, viewing it as a tribute to the MWL’s global efforts rooted in the values of Islam and its message of coexistence.
