JAZAN — The governorate of Al-Dair in Jazan region woke up Monday to a tragic road accident involving a vehicle carrying a group of female teachers on their way to work.

The crash claimed the lives of the driver and four teachers, while two others were taken to King Fahd Central Hospital in Jazan, one of them in critical condition.

According to initial reports, Bani Malik General Hospital received the accident cases after the vehicle overturned earlier in the morning. Four teachers were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to the hospital.

The two surviving teachers were immediately referred to King Fahd Central Hospital, where they are receiving necessary medical care. Authorities are carrying out investigations into the cause of the accident.
