RIYADH — The Saudi Ministry of Health announced that the seasonal influenza vaccine can now be accessed by booking an appointment through the Sehhaty application.
According to the ministry, the vaccine effectively reduces the severity of infections, decreases the need for intensive care, and lowers mortality rates associated with seasonal influenza.
The ministry highlighted that the most vulnerable groups at risk of complications include individuals with chronic diseases, those on immunosuppressive medications, people over 50 years of age, children aged six months to five years, pregnant women, individuals with obesity, and healthcare workers.
According to last year’s data, 96 percent of patients admitted to intensive care units had not received the vaccine, underscoring its crucial role in protection and prevention.
