DOHA — Qatar has rejected reports in U.S. media suggesting that it is re-evaluating its security partnership with Washington, calling the claims “categorically false.”
In a statement released by the International Media Office, Doha dismissed comments made to Axios by an unnamed source “with knowledge,” describing them as a failed attempt to drive a wedge between Qatar and the United States.
“It is a clear and failed attempt to drive a wedge between Qatar and the US by those who benefit from chaos in the region and oppose peace,” the statement read.
The office stressed that Qatar-U.S. security and defense cooperation “is stronger than ever and continues to grow,” highlighting the long-standing support between the two countries.
“Our two countries have supported each other for many years, and we will continue working together to promote global peace and stability,” the statement added. — SG
