RIYADH — Saudi Arabia welcomed on Wednesday the signing of an agreement to pave the way for resuming cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), facilitated by Egypt.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Saudi Arabia emphasizes the importance of building trust, adopting diplomatic solutions, and cooperating with the IAEA.
Iran and IAEA signed the agreement in Cairo on Tuesday following a tripartite meeting among Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty, his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog said on Tuesday they had reached a deal on resuming inspections at sites including those bombed by the United States and Israel.
