— The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert for Asir Province, warning of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall expected to intensify over the southern highlands by the end of this week.

NCM spokesman Hussein Al-Qahtani urged the public to follow instructions from relevant authorities and monitor weather updates, warning of potential flash floods, hailstorms, and strong downdrafts from thunderclouds.

On Friday, the NCM forecast moderate to heavy thunderstorms likely to cause flooding, accompanied by hail and strong winds, over parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah regions.

The center also noted hot to extremely hot conditions in parts of the Eastern Province and Madinah, with a possibility of thunderclouds and gusty winds in some areas, as well as in parts of Riyadh and Najran.
