Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Saudi Arabian Football Federation’s Disciplinary and Ethics Committee has imposed a SR500,000 fine on Al Hilal and barred the club from participating in the next edition of the Saudi Super Cup following its decision to withdraw from this year’s tournament.

The punishment also includes withholding any financial rewards allocated to Al Hilal from the 2025–2026 Super Cup.

Al Hilal had earlier announced its withdrawal from the tournament, set to be held in Hong Kong, citing a delayed start to pre-season preparations due to its participation in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

As a result, the Saudi Football Federation’s Competitions Committee confirmed that Al Ahli would replace Al Hilal in the four-team competition alongside Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, and Al Qadsiah.

In a related decision, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee also fined Al Shabab SR125,000 and excluded the club from the next edition of the Women’s Saudi Super Cup after it declined to participate following the release of the competition schedule.
