RIYADH —
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) recorded 1,541 smuggling attempts across the Kingdom’s land, sea, and air ports, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance border security and protect society from illegal goods.

According to a statement issued Saturday, the seizures included 125 cases involving narcotics and 833 cases of banned substances.

Additionally, customs officers intercepted 2,605 smuggled tobacco products and their derivatives, 48 categories of undeclared cash, and 35 categories of weapons and related items.

ZATCA emphasized its continued commitment to maintaining strict customs oversight on all imports and exports in coordination with relevant government entities to safeguard the nation’s security.

The authority urged the public to help combat smuggling and protect both society and the national economy by reporting violations through its secure hotline (1910), email (1910@zatca.gov.sa), or the international number (+9661910). Tipsters whose information leads to confirmed cases are eligible for a financial reward.
