Bangladeshi expat caught fishing illegally off Asir coast

JEDDAH —
Saudi Border Guard coastal patrols in Al-Qahmah, Asir region, have arrested a Bangladeshi resident for violating the Kingdom’s maritime safety regulations by fishing without a permit.

The individual was found in possession of a quantity of illegally caught fish. Authorities confirmed that legal procedures were initiated against him in coordination with the relevant agencies.

The Border Guard urged all residents and visitors to comply with maritime safety laws and regulations protecting the Kingdom’s marine life and natural resources.

The public is encouraged to report any environmental or wildlife violations by calling emergency numbers: 911 in Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Province; or 994, 999, and 996 in all other regions. All reports will be handled with full confidentiality and without liability to the informant.
