DOHA — The State of Qatar has strongly condemned a missile attack launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting Al-Udeid Air Base, describing it as a flagrant violation of Qatari sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the UN Charter.

In a statement released on Monday evening, the Qatari government confirmed that its air defenses successfully intercepted the incoming Iranian missiles, and that no injuries or casualties were reported. The base had been preemptively evacuated as part of heightened security procedures amid rising regional tensions.

“Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner equivalent with the nature and scale of this brazen aggression,” the statement said, emphasizing that any response would remain in line with international law.

The Qatari Ministry of Defense is expected to release a detailed report on the circumstances surrounding the attack. The government stressed that continued military escalation threatens to destabilize the region and could lead to catastrophic consequences for global peace and security.

Doha reiterated its longstanding call for restraint and dialogue, stating: “We reaffirm that dialogue is the only way to overcome the current crises and ensure the security of the region and the peace of its people.”

Qatar also noted that it was among the first nations to warn against the risks of escalating Israeli military actions in the region and has consistently advocated for diplomatic solutions and the principles of good-neighborliness.
