RIYADH — The Cardiac Diseases and Surgery Center in Madinah has performed the first two successful cardiac catheterizations for pilgrims this year. The condition of the Indonesian and Pakistani pilgrims became stable after undergoing the procedure.

The Madinah Health Cluster said that the first case involved a 77-year-old Indonesian pilgrim who suffered from chronic conditions including high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, and diabetes. The pilgrim's condition was critical when admitted to the center after suffering a severe coronary artery thrombosis, accompanied by cardiogenic shock and severe hypotension.

The health cluster stated that an urgent cardiac catheterization was immediately performed, during which the left circular coronary artery was opened and two drug-eluting stents were inserted. His condition improved significantly and he left the center in good health.

The second case involved a 60-year-old Pakistani pilgrim, who was diagnosed with a coronary artery thrombosis. An urgent therapeutic catheterization was successfully performed, during which two stents were inserted in the right coronary artery and the anterior descending artery. The patient left the center in good health.

This is part of the comprehensive medical preparations to serve the guests of God and provide emergency cardiac care. These interventions come as part of the ongoing efforts of the Madinah Health Cluster to provide specialized, high-quality health services to the guests of God, in accordance with the highest international medical standards.
