RIYADH — A meeting of the Saudi and Egyptian Ministerial-Level Follow-up and Political Consultation Committee, held in Riyadh on Monday, discussed intensifying bilateral cooperation mechanisms in diverse fields.
The meeting, co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, discussed ways to enhance joint coordination on issues of concern to the two countries and serving their common interests.
The meeting also reviewed regional and international developments, most notably the situation in the Gaza Strip and the efforts made to address them. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Hussaini, and Director General of the General Department for Arab Countries Ghazi Al-Anzi.
On the Egyptian side, the meeting was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom Ihab Abu Sarea, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Arab Affairs Ambassador Ihab Fahmy.
Earlier, Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks with Dr. Badr Abdel Aty at the ministry's headquarters. During the meeting, they reviewed the solid fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the two countries, and discussed issues of mutual interest.
