RIYADH — Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili met with Commander of the US Central Command General Michael Kurilla in Riyadh to discuss military and defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United States. They also discussed ways to enhance and develop strategic ties.
The meeting came as part of ongoing defense coordination between the two allies.
The US State Department recently approved a new arms deal, authorizing the sale of precision-guided weapon systems to Saudi Arabia.
Last month, Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman had visited Washington, D.C., where he met with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for bilateral talks.
Both sides reaffirmed the strength of the US-Saudi strategic partnership and explored new opportunities to advance collaboration in the defense sector.
The discussions also included reviews of regional and international efforts to bolster peace and stability.
