RIYADH
— Rashid Meredov, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, welcomed Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State and Cabinet Member, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ashgabat on Wednesday.

During their meeting, the two officials discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations, exploring ways to further enhance cooperation across various sectors.

Earlier this year, a significant step in Saudi-Turkmen collaboration was marked with the signing of an $80 million development loan agreement. Sultan Al-Marshad, Chief Executive of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), signed the agreement with Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the Turkmenistan State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs.

The loan will fund a project aimed at improving cancer treatment services in Turkmenistan by establishing three specialized cancer treatment centers across the country. These centers will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and have a combined capacity of 500 beds, providing better healthcare services to patients.
