RIYADH —
The Saudi Pro League (SPL) announced on Wednesday its acceptance of Saad Al Lazeez’s resignation from his role as vice chairman and general supervisor of the Player Acquisition Centre of Excellence (PACE) program, concluding a tenure in which he played a key role in the program’s establishment, governance, operational models, and implementation procedures.

The SPL expressed its gratitude for Al Lazeez’s contributions and extended its best wishes for his future endeavors.

The league confirmed that the PACE program will continue in its next phase under the governance and regulations approved by the SPL Board of Directors, with oversight from CEO Omar Mughrbel.

The league remains committed to ensuring the program’s continuity, refining its mechanisms, and enhancing its effectiveness in alignment with its strategic vision for the growth of Saudi professional football.

Al Lazeez, who joined the Saudi Pro League in late 2021, is expected to take on a senior role in the football division of Neom FC, which is on the verge of securing promotion to the Saudi Pro League, according to Asharq Al-Awsat sources.
