MADINAH — The total number of worshipers, who gathered at the Prophet's Mosque during the first half of the holy month of Ramadan, has exceeded 14 million, according to the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.

A total of 223,742 permits were issued for men and 155,630 permits for women to pray in the Rawdah Sharif during the period. The authority's statistical report showed that the number of worshipers who greeted Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two companions stood at 1,217,143.

According to the report, more than 4.5 million iftar meals were distributed among worshipers at the holy mosque, while 3,650 tons of Zamzam water were consumed. A total of 422 samples of Zamzam water underwent testing and analysis. More than 81,000 liters of disinfectants and sanitizers were used for cleaning and hygiene purposes.

Those who visited the exhibits and museums at the Prophet's Mosque stood at 18,000 while more than 51,000 faithful benefited from its library services during the first two weeks of Ramadan. The number of attendees at scholarly lessons reached approximately 84,000.

The authority has provided over 250,000 visitors with wheelchair transport, offered 50,000 chairs for the elderly, and loaned mobility carts to more than 20,000 visitors. Meanwhile, the parking occupancy rate at the mosque stood at 95 percent.

Regarding guidance services, 47,761 visitors benefited from spatial orientation assistance, 45,000 individuals received religious guidance, and 22,000 visitors engaged in on-site communication in multiple languages. The mosque's prayer hall occupancy rate reached 93 percent inside the mosque, over 80 percent in the external courtyards, and 33 percent on the mosque's roof.

A total of 22,589 volunteers participated in assisting visitors, while the authority distributed 600,000 gifts to mosque visitors. Additionally, over 50 media reports were conducted to document and share updates on these services.
