RIYADH — Saudi authorities assisted Iraqi officials in seizing a shipment of 7 million amphetamine pills concealed inside children’s toys and ironing boards, the Ministry of Interior announced Monday.

The operation was executed after the Saudi General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) provided intelligence to its Iraqi counterparts, enabling them to intercept the shipment before it reached its destination.

Saudi officials highlighted the significance of regional cooperation in combating drug trafficking and reaffirmed their commitment to disrupting smuggling networks.

Saudi Arabia has significantly intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking in recent years, working closely with regional and international partners to block illicit supply routes.
