MAKKAH — The second edition of the Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought conference is set to commence on Thursday in Makkah under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The event, organized by the Muslim World League (MWL), will bring together senior muftis and scholars from various Islamic schools of thought, representing more than 90 countries.

This year’s conference, held under the theme "Towards an Effective Islamic Coalition," aims to move beyond traditional dialogues by developing actionable programs that foster Islamic unity. Key discussions will center on practical initiatives to promote moderation, counter sectarian rhetoric, and address shared challenges within the Muslim world.

The Muslim World League, speaking on behalf of participating scholars, extended its deep gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their steadfast commitment to serving Islam and strengthening Muslim solidarity. — SG
