GENEVA —
Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen bin Khothaila, reiterated the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Sudan and its people in overcoming the ongoing crisis and achieving a sustainable political resolution.

Speaking at the UN Human Rights Council, Ambassador Khothaila highlighted Saudi Arabia’s significant diplomatic efforts to mediate the conflict.

He pointed to the Jeddah talks, hosted by Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the United States, as a crucial step in facilitating dialogue between Sudan’s warring parties.

These discussions aimed at protecting civilians, securing a ceasefire, and working toward a political resolution that preserves Sudan’s stability and ensures the continuity of its state institutions.

The ambassador emphasized that resolving Sudan’s crisis requires an immediate cessation of hostilities and an enhanced humanitarian response to support the Sudanese people.

He underscored the importance of paving the way for a stable and secure political future that meets the aspirations of Sudan’s citizens and prevents further escalation of the conflict.
