WASHINGTON — Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz in Washington on Tuesday to discuss strategic ties, regional security, and efforts to enhance peace and stability.
At the State Department, Prince Khalid was welcomed with official honors before signing the guest book.
During his meeting with Secretary Rubio, the two officials reaffirmed the historic Saudi-US partnership and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in defense, security, and diplomacy.
They also discussed global and regional challenges, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to maintain international security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, Prince Yazid Al-Farhan, advisor to the Foreign Minister on Lebanese affairs, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Dr. Khalid Al-Biyari, Royal Court Advisor Khalid Hadrawi, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber, and Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif.
From the US side, the meeting was attended by Michael Anton, Director of Policy and Planning at the State Department, Tim Lenderking, Senior Official for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, and James Holtznider, Senior Official for Political-Military Affairs.
Later, Prince Khalid met with National Security Advisor Michael Waltz at the White House, where discussions focused on deepening Saudi-US strategic relations and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation.
The two sides reviewed ongoing efforts to promote regional stability and global security, particularly in the Middle East.
