ROME —
Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif held official talks with Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi in Rome on Friday.

Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the meeting was in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, reflecting the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Italy.

During the discussions, the strategic partnership agreement signed in January between the Saudi and Italian governments was highlighted as the framework for deepening security collaboration and coordination.

The Saudi minister reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to combat transnational organized crime, track criminal networks, dismantle international drug trafficking operations, and enhance knowledge-sharing between both sides.

The session also explored ways to strengthen existing security cooperation, develop joint initiatives across multiple sectors, and addressed mutual areas of concern.
