"MWL, with these efforts, meetings and visits that reached the East and West of the world, encompassing people of different religions and cultures, carry the sublime message of Islam with its moderate and tolerant nature. This is also enhancing the status of the Islamic vision and its presence and conveying its voice to the world, and spreading its values that came for the good and benefit of humanity, and the preservation of its societies, and the prosperity of its peoples," he said while noting that MWL has confronted with these efforts the misinformation campaign against the sublime message of Islam.

For his part, Sheikh Al-Issa emphasized that the MWL is honored to carry the noble message of Islam, guided by the principles of mercy and compassion for all humankind. "In our contemporary context Islam has been greatly misunderstood for many reasons including the wrong or extremist practices issued by some of those who are considered to be part of it," he said. The MWL chief highlighted Islam's pioneering role in combating hatred, racism, and the false notion of a clash of civilizations.

The meeting also discussed the significance of the Charter of Makkah, signed by senior muftis and scholars from various Islamic sects from the Islamic world. The charter, presented to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, has been endorsed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the 57-member pan Islamic organization.
