KUWAIT CITY — Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah awarded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi the prestigious Mubarak Al-Kabir Medal during a ceremony held at Bayan Palace on Sunday.

The honor reflects Kuwait's appreciation for Modi's efforts in enhancing and strengthening relations between Kuwait and India.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Modi expressed India’s aspiration to elevate its bilateral relations with Kuwait to the level of a strategic partnership, highlighting the deep historical ties between the two nations.

He emphasized that their partnership holds immense potential in diverse fields, including defense, trade, investment, and energy.

"Our strong historical roots must align with the fruits of our partnership in the 21st century in terms of dynamism, strength, and multifaceted collaboration," Modi said.

He also noted that the shared developmental visions of Kuwait and India carry many commonalities.

"Our relations are progressing well, and I dare say they are moving toward new horizons," he added, expressing enthusiasm for advancing cooperation across various domains.

Modi’s visit to Kuwait marks the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. He underscored its significance, stating, "The horizons of our partnership are limitless, and I am certain this visit will provide new momentum to our collaboration."

The Indian Prime Minister commended Kuwait Vision 2035, which aims to transform the country into a global economic hub.

He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including airports, seaports, railways, renewable energy initiatives, and special economic zones. — KUNA
