JAZAN — Emir of Jazan Prince Mohammed bin Nasser inaugurated the 8th edition of the Saudi International Medical Education Conference (SIMEC2024) at Jazan University. The two-day conference is organized by the Jazan University Faculty of Medicine in partnership with the Saudi Society for Medical Education and the Deans’ Committee of Medical Colleges in the Kingdom.
The opening session of the conference witnessed a ceremony of signing a tripartite cooperation agreement among Jazan University, the Armed Forces Hospital in Jazan, and Abha International Private Hospital.
The conference discussed specialized and diverse topics in teaching and learning basic medical sciences, basic skills for assessment in medical education, and the collaborative education and practice program among the professionals.
In his welcoming speech, Jazan University President Professor Mohammed Abu Rasin said that the conference is being organized to keep pace with the world in the field of medical education, which manifests the Kingdom's vision to foster medical innovation, enhance development, and signifies the support of the wise leadership for education and knowledge.
In his speech, President of the Saudi Society for Medical Education Dr. Hussein AlZahrani said the conference, under the slogan "Education cooperation among health professions: expectations and challenges", aims to discuss the strategies of empowering the medical faculty members and enhancing their competencies in the field of medical education, and identify challenges, organize conferences and provide opportunities for the development of medical education in the Kingdom
