RIYADH — Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman of the Coalition Forces, denied claims pertaining to handing over the body of a Houthi leader's brother. "What was mentioned in the statement of the Houthi leader and circulated by some Houthi-affiliated websites regarding the handing over of his brother's body is inaccurate and lacks credibility," he said.

Al-Maliki reaffirmed in a press statement that the Coalition deals with the file of prisoners and detainees and the repatriation of the bodies of fighters as a purely humanitarian one that must not be politicized by any parties, and this is taking into account of the values ​​of the tolerant Islamic Shariah, humanitarian principles, and cultural and social norms.

The spokesman confirmed that the process of repatriating and handing over the bodies took place in June 2023, through which the bodies of nine martyrs from Saudi forces and 20 martyrs from Yemeni army were repatriated, as well as the bodies of 57 Houthi fighters who were killed on the border were handed over to them.

The spokesman also stated that such statements are misleading, and may have been announced for internal reasons related to the Houthis, knowing that the name mentioned in the statement was not among the names presented during the negotiations to repatriate the bodies, and it is not unlikely that this name is among the dead in regional conflicts.
