KUWAIT CITY — The Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, officially inaugurated the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Sunday.
The GCC leaders and representatives convened for a closed session to deliberate on key issues and initiatives on the summit's agenda, with plans to release the concluding statement and the Kuwait Declaration.
In his inaugural address, Sheikh Meshal welcomed the GCC leaders and representatives, underscoring the significance of the summit amid complex global and regional challenges.
The opening session also included remarks by GCC Secretary General Jassem Al-Budaiwi and the Head of the Omani delegation, Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sayyid Fahad bin Mahmoud Al-Said. — KUNA
