BARCELONA — Las Palmas delivered a stunning 2-1 upset against La Liga leaders Barcelona on Saturday, marking their first league victory over the Catalan giants in 16 encounters.

After a goalless first half, former Barcelona forward Sandro Ramírez opened the scoring for Las Palmas in the 49th minute.

Barcelona's Raphinha equalized in the 61st minute, but Wolves loanee Fábio Silva restored the visitors' lead just six minutes later.

This defeat extends Barcelona's winless streak in La Liga to three matches. Despite the loss, they remain atop the league with 34 points, four points ahead of Real Madrid, who have two games in hand.

Las Palmas' victory elevates them to 12 points, moving them up to 17th place in the standings.

The match also saw Barcelona's defender Alejandro Balde stretchered off after a collision, raising concerns as he appeared to vomit blood.
