RIYADH —
King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized that the establishment of a genuine political horizon to resolve the Palestinian cause, based on the two-state solution, is the only way to achieve lasting peace, stability, and security in the region.

Addressing the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh on Monday, the Jordanian king noted that one year has passed since Israel’s war on Gaza, which has resulted in widespread destruction, loss of innocent lives, and violations of international law.

King Abdullah criticized the international community for failing to stop Israel’s actions, which, he said, has emboldened Israel to escalate its attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank and ignited a war in Lebanon.

He called for an immediate halt to these wars to protect innocent lives, end the destruction, and prevent the region from descending into an all-out conflict.

The Jordanian king also expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its efforts in organizing the summit at such a critical time, calling for urgent action to address the ongoing tragedy.
