RIYADH Dr. Rajaa Al-Raddadi, associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University and Consultant in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, has won the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Health Research Excellence from the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority. She received the award during the first day of the Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh International Convention Center on Monday.

Dr. Al-Raddadi earned the award for her outstanding contributions to research, knowledge advancement, and innovation in the health sector during her two-decade brilliant journey in scientific research. Her extensive body of work includes 170 scientific papers.

Competing against a select group of researchers, her work has garnered 139,000 citations and boasts an h-index of 82. Reflecting on the award, Dr. Al-Raddadi remarked: “This award is one of the most significant ones that I have received, as it encapsulates years of work and scientific research in the health field. It also serves as a measure of the quality, development, and excellence of the research.”

She emphasized that Saudi Arabia places great importance on scientific research, which is a crucial component of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, given its impact on professional and scientific progress in health and other sectors. King Abdulaziz University is recognized as a leading institution both locally and internationally for the quality of its scientific research, supported by its expertise, state-of-the-art laboratories, and research centers.

Among Dr. Al-Raddadi’s notable scientific contributions are research titles such as “Measuring the Burden of Infectious Diseases;” “Identifying Risk Factors for Hypertension and Diabetes;” “Developing a Tool for Diabetes Detection;” “Studying Factors Leading to Osteoporosis;” “Research on Quality of Life and the Impact of Chronic Diseases;” and “Obesity and its Role in Chronic Disease Development.”
