This is an extension of its strategic plans to improve the transportation experience, as the work area within the scope of the contracts reached 83 million square meters for a vibrant Riyadh in accordance with the best standards of efficiency and sustainability.
The contracts aimed to raise and improve the quality of roads, and to improve the safe transportation experience within the city and bring it to an advanced level of international standards for measuring road quality. The projects will be implemented in coordination with a number of concerned authorities until the year 2028 to serve residents and visitors to the city.
The mayoralty follows the mechanism of dividing the city into five zones, including the north, south, east, west and central zone, to determine work priorities according to precise standards resulting from a complete survey of the capital's roads and streets. This will be through using the latest technologies and dividing them into work areas that take into account the quality of existing roads, safety standards, maintenance work, and coordination with the work of other entities in the city.
The Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center, which was established by a decision of the Council of Ministers on July 19, 2023, contributes within its roles to ensure that there is no duplication of work and the sustainability of road quality improvement work during that period by preparing a comprehensive detailed plan for infrastructure project work in the Riyadh Region, including programs allocated to each project, specific timetables, and planned implementation phases.
