PARIS — Heavy rainfall caused significant flooding in Cannes, France, prompting the municipality to issue a warning on Monday.
“Intense storms, occasionally accompanied by hail, are underway in our area,” the municipality stated on X, urging residents to “stay informed and be vigilant when traveling.”
Several areas, including Mimont Street, Sector Commander Maria, and Lower Avenue of Marechal Gallieni, have been closed to traffic due to heavy runoff and difficult conditions.
The municipality reported damage in some cellars and shops in the République area but confirmed that there are no victims or injuries at this time.
“The situation is returning to normal,” the statement concluded. — Agencies
