JEDDAH —
Al-Ittihad Club inaugurated a girls' football academy on Friday, comprising three age groups: under 12, under 15, and under 17, in support of women's football.

The club held a welcoming ceremony for the new players in the presence of the technical and administrative staff of the girls' teams. This initiative is part of the club's strategy to nurture young talents in the age groups and to establish a strong foundation of outstanding players, contributing to the club's sports journey and Saudi football, according to a statement from the club.

This development follows the women's team of Al-Ittihad finishing sixth in the Saudi Women's Football League last season and fifth in the season before, indicating the need for more focus on the game to improve the team's rankings in the coming years.
