JEDDAH – The Court of Appeals has dismissed a lawsuit brought by a widow against a star artist. The court based its ruling on the plaintiff’s inability to provide sufficient evidence to support her case.
The widow of the star’s brother filed the lawsuit against her brother-in-law for stealing important papers and documents, including her marriage contract, all of which were used to deny her one-eighth of her husband’s property as inheritance. Moreover, she also accused the defendant of hiding papers which proved he owed her deceased husband SR5 million. The widow vehemently contested claims made by the superstar that she had been divorced by his brother prior to his death. The court asked the plaintiff to submit evidence against the accused which she failed to provide.
Following the superstar’s legal oath claiming his innocence, the court had no choice but to dismiss the case.
Calls to the superstar’s office for his reaction to the verdict remained unanswered.
