NEW YORK — Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami, director of Public Security, led Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the 4th United Nations Summit of Chiefs of Police (UNCOPS), held at the UN headquarters in New York on June 26-27 with the participation of ministers, police chiefs and senior representatives of regional police organizations.
The summit tackled ways to enhance security and peace through national and international policing, cross-border crimes, increasing capabilities of rapid action and response teams to combat crime, and the role of partnerships in future police work
The summit discussedseveral other topics on the agenda, in addition to reviewing the experiences of participating countries in combating organized crime and confronting security challenges.
