Saudi communications minister meets White House officials to boost space and digital tech collaboration

WASHINGTON —
Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology (IT) Eng. Abdullah Al-Sawah met with White House officials to enhance and expand the strategic partnership between the two countries and stimulate innovation in the Kingdom’s space industry.

The meetings were attended by Saudi Ambassador Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan and Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali.

Al-Sawah met with Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology Anne Neuberger to discuss enhancing partnerships in fifth- and sixth-generation technologies and ORAN RAN technologies.

The minister also met with Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security Amos Hochstein and National Security Council Middle East and North Africa Coordinator Brett McGurk to discuss cooperation in the digital economy and innovation.

At a separate meeting with Chirag Parikh, the Executive Secretary of the White House National Space Council, Al-Sawah discussed joint investments in space economies and technologies and developing national talents.
