RIYADH — The Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman held Tuesday in Riyadh, renewed the Kingdom's commitment, made during the G20 virtual meeting under India's presidency, to continuing its comprehensive efforts to address climate change.
It agreed to give priority to implementing the joint framework for addressing debts, in a way that highlights interest in enhancing international cooperation in various fields and reaching tangible solutions to support the global economy.
The Cabinet stressed the contents of the Crown Prince and and Prime Minister's remarks in the Extraordinary Joint Meeting of BRICS Leaders and leaders of invited BRICS members on the situation in the Middle East, with particular focus on Gaza.
It stressed his call to completely halt military operations and protecting civilians, where he also reiterated the Kingdom's unaltered stance that there is no means to realize security and stability but through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Al-Quds as its capital.
The Cabinet was briefed on the content of the phone call that the Crown Prince received from the Ukrainian president over relations between the two countries, where the Crown Prince stressed Saudi Arabia's support to international efforts aimed at reaching a political solution to the Ukrainian-Russian crisis.
The Cabinet also addressed the outcomes of the Kingdom's participation in several international meetings over the past few days as part of its endeavors to promote solidarity with other countries to contribute to every effort that serves justice and peace and achieves stability and prosperity for the people of the region and the world.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Bin Yousef Al-Dosari said that the Cabinet deliberated on the outcomes of the Fifth Arab Water Conference held in Riyadh, highlighting the Kingdom's proactive role in addressing water challenges at both the regional and international levels.
This includes the initiative to establish the Global Water Organization and the development of technological solutions to achieve sustainable water security.
The Cabinet approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for energy cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It authorized the minister of energy and the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) to discuss and sign an MoU for cooperation with the State of Kuwait in the field of nuclear safety and radiation protection.
This MoU encompasses collaboration between the NRRC and the Radiation Protection Department of the Ministry of Health of the State of Kuwait.
The Cabinet authorized the minister of foreign affairs to discuss and sign a draft Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of support and technical assistance between the ministry and the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND).
It approved an MoU outlining the principles of the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
The Cabinet authorized the minister of industry and mineral resources to hold discussions regarding a draft MoU for cooperation in mineral resources with the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It authorized the minister of health to discuss and sign with the Belarusian side a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the health sector between the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Health of Belarus.
The Cabinet approved a framework agreement between the Royal Commission for AlUla of Saudi Arabia and the Georges Pompidou National Centre for Art and Culture of the French Republic for cooperation on contemporary art exhibitions in AlUla.
It authorized the minister of commerce, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority to discuss and sign with the Pakistani side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority of Saudi Arabia and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Production of Pakistan for cooperation in the field of small and medium enterprises.
The Cabinet approved Saudi Arabia’s accession to the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks.
It authorized the minister of tourism, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority to discuss with the Swiss side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Saudi Tourism Authority of Saudi Arabia and the Swiss Tourism Foundation in the Swiss Confederation.
The Cabinet authorized the chairman of the Capital Market Authority to discuss and sign with the Bahraini side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Capital Market Authority of Saudi Arabia and the Central Bank of Bahrain.
It approved the second additional protocol to the Universal Postal Convention included in the decisions of the Universal Postal Union Third Extraordinary Congress.
