Saudi Arabia, Maldives discuss cooperation in fighting corruption

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia and the Maldives have discussed ways of joint action between the two countries in protecting integrity and combating corruption.

The discussions took place after Mazen Al-Kahmous, president of the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) received the President of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives, Adam Shamil, and his accompanying delegation in Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the most important procedures that Nazaha follows for protecting integrity, enhancing transparency and combating corruption. as well as the Maldives' experience in the field.

The meeting witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Saudi Arabia and Maldives with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the field, exchanging information on to corruption-related crimes, and developing and strengthening the institutional capacity of the two sides to fight corruption.
