RCRC showcases Kingdom’s bid to host World Expo 2030

NEW YORK — The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), the entity responsible for the Kingdom’s bid to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh, participated in the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development 2023, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The forums was held under the theme “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels”.

Director General of the Riyadh Expo 2030 file Eng. Abdulaziz Bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Ghannam highlighted Riyadh’s Expo 2030 contribution to achieving the sustainable development goals and stressed Riyadh’s commitment to achieving these goals, in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030.

The outcome of the forum will be reviewed with members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the organization that oversees and regulates all international exhibitions.

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) hosted this year’s forum at the UN Headquarters in New York between July 10 and 19, 2023, to coordinate activities in order to approve states’ initiatives and statements. — SPA
