Victoria earthquake: Embassy cautions Saudi citizens in Australian region

CANBERRA — Saudi Arabia's embassy in Australia has warned its citizens about the earthquake that occurred in the state of Victoria.

The embassy has called on the citizens to take caution and to follow up on the directives issued by the meteorological office in the state.

In the event of an emergency, the embassy asked Saudi citizens to communicate by calling the emergency number:

0432257277.

According to Australia's Bureau of Meteorology, there is no tsunami threat to Australia from the earthquake that was felt near Sunbury in Melbourne, Victoria state, with a magnitude of 3.8.

There have been reports of minor damage to roads and homes in Victoria after the earthquake shook the state for about 30 seconds at around 11:41 pm at a depth of two kilometers, Sky News Australia said.
