JEDDAH — The Al-Rafeef Care Home for orphans and displaced people held a celebration on the 83rd Saudi National Day for its occupants and their friends.



Batool, a student in her last year of high school who hopes to study human resources at university next year, expressed happiness at being able to celebrate National Day with her friends.



She said: “Today’s celebration program included contests revolving around National Day as well as drawings and speeches on the celebration.”



Layla, also in her last year of high school, was very happy to celebrate the National Day.



She said there were special exhibitions showing the heritage of the Kingdom, national costume displays, face painting and opportunities to cook Hijazi food.



Nouf Al-Bougamy, a supervisor at the home, said the girls were very enthusiastic and all participated in decorating the place with flags.



Lujain, a sociology student in her second year of university, also invited her friends from university to celebrate with her.



Abir Sajan, manager of Al-Rafeef Home, a subsidiary of the Al-Faisaliah Women’s Welfare Society, said: “Al-Rafeef Home girls were celebrating the National Day in an atmosphere filled with love for their country.



“We thank Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for all the support the girls receive on social and financial levels.” Girls at the home also thanked King Abdullah for the care and concern they receive.



They were all dressed in green and white costumes with green caps and accessories.



The entire garden of the home was decorated with the Kingdom’s flags.
