adidas and Saudi Professional League’s most deadly and prolific footballer, Nasser Al Shemrani, have proudly revealed the next installment of the world’s most iconic football boot, the Predator Lethal Zones.
Following an incredible 2011-2012 season that saw ’Al Zilzal’ become top goal scorer with 21 goals as well be named Best Forward and Best Player in the Saudi Professional League, Al Shemrani has joined world-class players such as Xavi (Spain & FC Barcelona), Van Persie (Netherlands & Arsenal FC), Nasri (France & Manchester City FC) and Nani (Portugal & Manchester United FC) who will all unleash the new Predator Lethal Zones in the forthcoming UEFA European Football Championship held in Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1, 2012.

Complete with five deadly zones for controlling the game, the Predator Lethal Zones positions an arsenal of possibilities at a player’s feet. One zone for high-speed dribbling, another for the perfect first touch, a sweet spot to generate pace while striking at goal, a driver to open up the game with long distance passing and a fifth zone for precision passing. Five lethal zones, one deadly result: Perfect Ball Control.

Following extensive research over the last two years, adidas learnt that modern players are on the ball for a maximum of 90 seconds during a 90 minute match, so every touch counts. To pinpoint areas of the boot most critical for perfect control in those 90 seconds, adidas provided leading professionals with white boots and colored marker pens to highlight and name the part of the boot they controlled and kicked the ball. The results of this activity helped identify the Predator® Lethal Zones.

With the new boot debuting on pitches across the globe including the UEFA European Championship, the Al Shabab FC striker has been describing how the adidas vision of perfect ball control started as a concept before coming to life.

Speaking during a recent Predator field-test of the ’Sweet Spot’ zone, 27 year old, Al Shemrani, known for his fierce strikes and unstoppable goal scoring ability said:

"The modern game requires every single touch to be perfect. Through research and testing adidas has used player insight to directly create a ’Sweet Spot’ which can deliver more power and curl on any shot. It’s amazing to see how adidas has involved player feedback to give players exactly what they want, even more power, more control and more accuracy." – SG
