G20 Summit: Inspiring & successful

November 25, 2020

The G20 summit in Saudi Arabia gave us another opportunity to spot the light on a new achievement. The virtual G20 Summit was an interesting and nice experience organized during a very critical time and I can say it touched me as a Saudi woman, in particular, and others globally. The G20 summit in Riyadh was inspiring for us as Saudi Arabia, the first Arab country to host the G20 summit, successfully staged the global event.

Once again social media showed Saudi women in good light, where they brought their common interests and skills together to bring out themed scenes. G20 was an opportunity for youthful Saudis to reveal their plans and future dreams in all aspects on a wider stage. The G20 logo, made by a Saudi woman, reflected women’s passion and positivity about their country in a graphic form for the entire world to see.

I believe that truly empowered woman would support her community without hesitation and with her skills and focus will be a leading partner in the drive toward progress. It’s important here to remember Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman’s (MBS) repeated mantra in every speech about supporting and empowering Saudi woman. He will always emphasize the same idea that women are an essential part of development. And the recent G20 proved that with the Saudi women blazing a successful trail in every field and at every age or educational level, displaying responsibility, respect and intellect in tackling challenges.

The spirit of G20 was just like a miracle, with everything falling into place perfectly in a way that surprised even our detractors while making us the envy of our friends too. No one can doubt the fact that G20’s success wasn’t accident, but was the sweet fruit of our government’s endless efforts, the harnessing of technology and young minds, and our leaders and youth, at every turn, putting out their best. This proved the recipe for success.

One area to be singled out is the Saudi Data & Al Authority, as this group of Saudis have put Saudi Arabia in the ranks of developed countries in the field of digital growth, for the G20 Summit in Riyadh was operated by SDAIA from start to finish in a unique way and under difficult global circumstances. But SDAIA showed their mettle and emerged in flying colors.

What the women and youth of the Kingdom have proved beyond one’s wildest dreams is that Saudi Arabia has arrived on the world map and ranks among the top nations seeking to fuel global growth and, they have a King like King Salman in the Kingdom of Humanity. Saudi Arabia has shown with this G20 Summit that it is a strong and empowered country with a social, religious, and economic authority.
