“Once you choose hope, anything’s possible,” said Christopher Reeve. As for Nelson Mandela, he summarized the relationship of hope and peace of mind in one phrase when he said: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.”
Hope and tranquility are an emotional state and whenever the mind embraces this, it takes its holder to an exalted position. I narrate this to illustrate our state of mind in the post coronavirus pandemic period.
There is no doubt that peoples around the world will share with us almost the same feeling as we approach the G20 leaders summit, which will be held virtually over two days on Nov. 21 and 22, under the presidency of the summit’s leader Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
The convening of the 15th session of the summit under the leadership of Saudi Arabia is in itself the essence of hope and tranquility. It is the most ideal road map in achieving the three objectives of the summit: empowering people; preserving the planet; and shaping new horizons.
Saudi Arabia is considered as a major player in restructuring the balance of power and playing an important role in stabilizing the global economy. These meetings and summits promote the Saudi Vision 2030 and are closely linked to it.
One of the main goals of G20 summit is focusing on economic stability, sustainable development, empowering women, enhancing human capital, and increasing the flow of trade and investments.
Day after day, we see how the Kingdom has excelled in all of the above areas. The Kingdom chose hope and created tranquility — a state that runs with determination and announced visions.
The Saudi citizen today listens, watches and lives in a state of hope and tranquility, as the health and educational system has proven its strength and ability to withstand challenges.
Despite all the difficulties, citizens have proven their seriousness in overcoming the crisis and the Kingdom has achieved global records in maintaining stability, praise be to God.
Perhaps it is an opportunity for us to thank those leaders who contributed immensely to build the nation; intellectuals who drew the future road map; the hearts that celebrate the achievements of their homeland and the people who admire it.
Talk to those in your surroundings, especially to children, about hope and tranquility. Do not be intimidated by those external voices and hired horns, and do not bother about the transformations that our enemies think will affect us.
In politics, we are focused and strong, and we can articulate to such elements the famous wise saying: “The hand that you cannot cut... shake hands with it.”
Yes, we are a state that seeks security and makes it. Our historic relations have been established by the wisdom and insight of our leaders.
Be optimistic, as our people say: “Identify good from God.” All we need now is tranquility and continue the march and benefit from the maximum during this global scenario.
Do not stand as a witness to the event, but partake with your voice and record with your thoughts to live in a country that boasts as one of the world’s strongest economies in a global scene.
This gives you the strength to have peace of mind as well as to dream and realize your dreams. As Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, the architect of Vision 2030, said: “There is no place among us except for dreamers.”
