CONTROL over our lives is something we all aspire to have. But in a universe in which everything is so much interconnected, none of us has an absolute control over anything. Rather, what we all have in abundance is influence.
But what is influence? To put it briefly, it means to have the power to affect and manipulate things as a thought or decision, and in order to be an influencer, you need to be worthy and trusty.
Let me share an inspiring story that deserves to be told as it resonates with the idea of “being influential.” It underlines the importance of Saudi Arabia at the global level and how the Kingdom plays an important role in shaping general opinion and attitude and creating transformational changes in the world.
On the other hand, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s policies have come to be known all around the world as aggressive, violent and destructive.
Erdogan is damaging Turkey’s economy as well as relations with important countries.
As a result of his aggressive polices toward the Kingdom, Saudis began use only one tool — the market — to express their anger and displeasure over Erdogan’s provocations and nonsensical announcements.
Saudis responded in a certain way, not war but rejection. Erdogan was challenged by something he probably was not aware of.
As a matter of fact, we don’t have control over what and how Erdogan behaves, but we are pretty sure how to respond to him.
The call to boycott Turkish products is the reaction of Saudis to Erdogan’s actions. The importance of the boycott choice lies in the fact that it relates to people across Saudi Arabia.
In support of our great country and our leaders, we are proud of the initiative, which seeks to contribute to building and protecting the Kingdom.
