Flight attendant jailed for assault

An appeals court has approved a court decision to sentence a Saudi Arabian Airlines flight attendant to four years in jail for attacking an Austrian colleague.

HAIL — An appeals court has approved a court decision to sentence a Saudi Arabian Airlines flight attendant to four years in jail for attacking an Austrian colleague. The general court in Buraidah sentenced the Saudi man to 10 years in jail and 2,000 lashes for the assault on the woman. An appeal reduced the sentence to eight years in jail. A second appeal sentenced the man to a final jail term of four years. The attack happened on board a Saudia flight coming to Qassim four years ago.
