JEDDAH — Jotun Penguins were crowned champions beating Zultec in the final of 2nd Modon Sports (Cricket) Tournament sponsored by Modon and organized by Arkan Sports. Zultec were runners-up with Indomie clinching the 3rd position.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at Modon Industrial Basketball Court, Jeddah. Chief Guests on the occasion were Eng. Haitham Abu Mansoor of Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones “Modon” and Fahad Al Johani. Also present for the prize distribution ceremony was CEO of Arkan Sports Mohammed Al Dhabaan and Hammoud Salameh, sales manager of Arkan Sports.
Abu Mansoor thanked Arkan Sports CEO Al Dhabaan and his team for the excellent way in which the cricket and basketball tournaments had been conducted in Jeddah as part of Modon’s 2nd Sports Tournament and assured them of Modon’s continued support in future in a bigger and better way.
Abu Mansoor stressed that the colorful function of the evening was exemplary of Arkan Sports ability to organize such events besides its abilities to promote and develop sporting activities in KSA and also a proof of the hard work and dedication of its organizing committee.
Earlier, the ceremony started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an followed by briefing by Ishfaque Bhatt of Arkan Sports on the salient features of 2nd Modon Sports Tournament in Jeddah comprising Cricket and Basketball.
This was followed by the speech of CEO Al Dhabaan, who welcomed the Modon officials and thanked Modon Authorities for their solid support of such activities for industrial cities workers in Riyadh and Jeddah as part of their social responsibilities of encouraging healthy sports environment to boost the morale of the workers.
He praised the skills and dedicated work of the organizing committee of Arkan Sports under leadership of Hammoud Salameh. He also thanked Jeddah Cricket Association, responsible for organizing and conducting the cricket tournament in Jeddah, who carried it out in a thoroughly professional way.
Abu Mansoor congratulated the winner and runners-up cricket team and the best performing players of the tournament and went on to distribute the awards.

Best Bowler: Wiqar of Binzagr Foods – 13 wickets;
