JEDDAH — King Abdulaziz University established a chair on Prophetic Medicine at the King Fahd Center for Medical Research in Jeddah.



Dr. Ahmed Nagadi, vice president for Business and Knowledge Creativity at King Abdulaziz University, inaugurated the Y.A. Jameel Scientific Chair of Prophetic Medical Applications at the center’s main auditorium.

 

Research to develop safe methods for manufacturing drugs will be the main focus of the chair, apart from setting the basic and scientific rules to Prophetic Medicine.



During the ceremony, Prof. Mohammad Qari, vice supervisor of the chair, presented an overview of the project that will last for three years.



The project includes organizing an international conference, research projects, awareness programs and patent licensing. “We thought about this concept eight years ago and after working on it we presented it four years ago,” said Prof. Sawsan Rohaiem the chair’s professor.



The chair’s team includes staff members from the colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, Dentistry, Applied Medical Sciences, Economics, Arts and Humanities, and members from the World Organization of Scientific Miracles in the Qur’an and the Sunnah.



It will also be supported by professors and consultants specialized in various fields of medicine and science such as Shaker Mousa, professor of pharmacology and head of research at the University of Albany in New York. — SG
