The establishment of the Saudi Space Authority is a giant step that will provide a qualitative change in intellectual culture for future generations in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Space science represents a quantum leap in monitoring geography and observing vegetation. It also helps the government monitor urban development and contributes to the development of curriculum for students to raise their awareness about the world of space and its future possibilities. That is why it is being taught as a scientific subject to students in Japan and Europe from an early age.

Space rivalry began as part of the ideological rivalry of the Cold War between the East and the West. Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin was the first man in space, and American astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. With the end of the Cold War, there has been an increase in international cooperation as countries seek to improve the lives of their people. Space has become important for international communications and internet coverage through satellites.

The establishment of the Saudi Space Authority will enhance the economic growth and development of the Kingdom. The field of space can be used to harness the energy of soft power. This is now the case with the United States, China, Japan, India and Russia.

The appointment of Prince Sultan Bin Salman to head the Saudi Space Authority will ensure the success of the new organization, especially considering his expertise in space and administration.
