ACC nominates Nadwi to development committee

JEDDAH — Nadeem Nadwi, chief executive officer (CEO) of Saudi Cricket Center, has been nominated as member of Development Committee of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for a period of 2 years. The nomination was announced at the Annual General Meeting in Lahore, Pakistan recently.

Nadwi, expressed his gratitude towards ACC management on his nomination and believed that it would provide further opportunities for the development of the game of cricket in Saudi Arabia. Mahinda of Malaysian Cricket Association, Mahmoud of Singapore Cricket and Manzoor Ahmed of QCA are other members of ACC Development Committee.

Nadwi and Tariq Javed, president RCA & chairman executive council, SCC, attended the AGM. The members were briefed about the ACC Development plans, events and the programs implemented in 2017.

The ACC Presidency has been handed over to Bangladesh with Nazmul Hassan (President Bangladesh Cricket Board) taking over from Ehsan Mani (Chairman PCB) for the term 2018-2020. During the meeting Afghanistan was unanimously selected as full member ACC.

Ehsan Mani in his address thanked the ACC and ICC officials, “I want to thank the ACC members, David Richardson (ICC, CEO) and other ICC officials for coming over to Lahore for the AGM. The Asian region is incredibly important for the future of international cricket comprising the biggest fan base for the game,” he added.
